A day in Sant’Ambrogio transports you to the Sicilian Countryside’s flavours and colours, rich in rural landscapes, immersed in Mediterranean vegetation, with amazing views between the mountains and the sea.
Meeting the local shepherd means being in touch with the traditional life on the farms, surrounded by hundreds of goats. You’ll enjoy taking photos of the shepherd meanwhile he milks his goats. He will show you some of the essential steps before making cheese, warming the milk to let it curdle. You’ll live a five senses experience through the smell of vegetation, the tasting of milk, the sound of the bells from the goats’ necks, and touching their hair in the natural frame of the coloured Sicilian Countryside.
Back in the village, you’ll discover the historic oil mill of the family Garbo at the corner of the unique Piazzetta in Sant’ Ambrogio. You’ll listen to the family’s story and discover the enormous heritage of the Sicilian olive trees, the benefits of the extra virgin olive oil and its intense flavour.
A stroll around the village, meeting locals, will let you breathe the sense of community, appreciating how people take care of the place.
We’ll end the day having an aperitivo contadino made of local appetizers and Sicilian wine, enjoying the view from a beautiful terrace in front of the sea.

Going with Giovanna to milk the goats & see how ricotta cheese was made was very special. Giovanna made it very pleasant. We also enjoyed the olive oil tasting with her as well, very enjoyable. Marie-Eve and Luciano I.
